Ida Elster, the owner and principal of IDA's KITCHEN, was born and raised in Lithuania.
Ida attended a prestigious culinary school in the city of Vilnus. There she learned how to develop her talent and skills into a career and her way of life. She specialized in Polish, Russian, and Lithuanian cultured foods.
In 1976 she began attending the International School Of Chefs in Tadmore Hotels, specializing in Mediterranean cuisine and successfully graduated with honors degree. Shortly after, Ida began working in well-known hotels practicing Mediterranean cuisine. In 1989 she came to Canada.
After much experience and the many skills she accrued, Ida was able to open her own prepared foods and catering company.
Ida’s passion for entertaining is the reason she is in the catering business for the past 30 years. What makes her different is, she makes sure every single food prepared she sees to it that it is what it should be. She is very ‘hands-on” on everything.
Under Ida's direction, all menus are handcrafted to satisfy her clients desires.
Ida believes that good food improves the quality of life and she would like you to come share in the pleasure and enjoyment her food has to offer.
